Grown commercially almost nowhere outside southern India. A fruity, slightly balsamic note that reads differently on every skin it touches — which is exactly why perfumers keep coming back to it.

Davana CO₂ Extract at a glance
Davana is one of the few genuinely Indian materials in the perfumer's palette with no meaningful substitute and no other origin. Karnataka and parts of Tamil Nadu grow essentially all of it. If you want davana, you are buying from India.
Davanone carries the profile, but the interest is in what sits around it — a fruit-and-rum character that shifts on skin more than almost any other natural. In flavour work it turns up in small doses in fruit systems, where it rounds out a top note without reading as a specific fruit.
The distilled oil is the market standard. The CO₂ run is fuller and less sharp, with more of the resinous weight retained.

Every batch ships with its paperwork
Appearance, refractive index, specific gravity, moisture by Karl Fischer and extraction yield are checked on every single batch.
Actives go through HPLC. Heavy metals through ICP-MS against EU and USFDA limits. Pesticide residues by multi-residue GC-MS against EU MRLs. Residual CO₂ is confirmed below the 0.1% food-safe threshold by headspace GC.
